February 1, 2025. It feels surreal to say it out loud, but this date marks a decade since we opened the doors to our tiny warehouse in Norfolk, VA, with a dream and a whole lot of determination. While those early days feel like yesterday, they are a testament to how far we’ve come. This milestone celebration is as much about reflecting on our family business’s story as it is about celebrating you—our loyal customers who made it all possible.

How It All Began

It all started with a simple idea. We asked ourselves, "Why can’t high-quality, solid wood furniture be more accessible to American homes?". Online furniture markets were flooded with cheaply made alternatives that didn’t last. But Sal, our founder, knew furniture—construction, sustainability, and design were embedded in his DNA. With existing relationships with trusted factories in Brazil, we saw an opportunity.

With this vision in mind, we opened our small Norfolk warehouse. It was a true “mom-and-pop” operation with minimal overheads, a lot of hope, and an inside joke about selling just one wardrobe a day to break even! We were complete newcomers, learning everything from scratch—how to organize a warehouse, ship products effectively, and even handle customer service. It was a steep learning curve, but we loved every moment of it.

Only a year later, that humble Norfolk warehouse became too small to contain our dream. Orders were pouring in, and our customers were falling in love with the quality and timeless designs of our furniture. Today, we’re focusing on running our business more efficiently while continuing to innovate. Our passion for sustainable materials, thoughtful design, and expert craftsmanship hasn’t wavered. From modernized shaker pieces to timeless classics, we’re creating furniture that mixes seamlessly with your style.
